He received an Olivier Award nomination for his starring role in the London premiere of the revival of Kiss Me, Kate. Brent made his debut as the Phantom in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Phantom-the Vegas Spectacular and revisited the role of the Phantom in a production in Germany performed in German.
Recently completing a two-year run starring in the mega show Showstoppers at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas, David was last seen on Broadway in the mega-hit musical Wicked playing Fiyero, a role that he originated in the developmental workshops of the show. An original Broadway cast member of the musical The Light In The Piazza, he is the recipient of the Helen Hayes and Garland Awards for Best Actor for his portrayal of Fabrizio in the national tour of The Light In The Piazza
holds the distinct honor of being the first and only actor to have performed both as the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in Les Misérables on Broadway. John’s most recent Broadway run counted him as only the 12th performer to play the Phantom in its historic, record-breaking, 25 year run. John recently played Jean Valjean at the Marriott Theater in Chicago where his performance not only earned him critical acclaim but also the Joseph Jefferson Award for “best actor in a musical.”
